October 16 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
This will be our last workshop of the year, so if you have questions about your trees, want help wiring your conifers, styling input on any tree, or need suggestions for pots in advance of repotting season, this is your last chance until next year to check in with our experts.
It is best to wait until November or December to do any more deciduous work at this point. At that time you’ll want to defoliate them and make small cuts for shaping. If your trees have already lost 50% or more of their leaves then they are ready for complete defoliation and winter prep.
For conifers you should be wiring your trees into shape to get set for growth in the spring. Full wiring can be done now as well as heavy bending.
Japanese Black Pine work should wait until November or December. We’ll have Jonas Dupuich here for the November meeting to give advice on this species.
RSVP: It should be routine by now, but we need you to RSVP for next week’s workshop. You can do that by emailing email@example.com. (PLEASE do not reply to this email – your message will not get through to the right people if you do.)
Even if you think you told someone at the meeting last week you thought you would be at the workshop, we still need to hear from you by email by Friday October 12.
We know something can always come up at the last minute that you might not be able to follow through on plans, but a good guess will help a lot with our planning with MAGC management.
- Workshops are free to members whose dues are current
- $20 fee for non-members
- Bring your own tools
- Bring your own wire – club provides wire for repotting only
