January 16 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Repotting Workshop – (Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org)
$5 for a small tree, $10 for medium/large, $20 for non-members.
January 16 is the first of 3 repotting workshops sponsored by Marin Bonsai Club. As in the past, members whose dues are current can bring their trees for expert help in repotting their trees; into a better looking pot, into a larger pot for more robust growth, for the overall health of the tree, or for just good messy fun.
Bring a selection of pots if you aren’t sure what is best for your tree and you are certain to get lots of input from club members. A fee of $5 for shohin and smaller trees, $10 for regular and large bonsai which covers the cost of soil (an akadama mix), wire and rental for our meeting space, to be collected at the time of repotting.
In addition, the club will be selling a variety of bonsai pots, from Korean mica to clay, small, medium and some large. Please bring small bills, $1, $5 and $10.
Here is a partial list of things to bring to the workshop:
• Tools – including root cutter, root hook, rake, chopsticks, GLOVES, apron and saw
• A bin to contain the soil removed from the tree – to keep down the mess
• A container to take the old soil home – we have limited disposal options at MAGC
